- It's 3 cups of melon.
- You need 1 bunch of bitter leaf (washed).
- You need 1 cup of palm oil.
- It's 1 of cooking spoon fresh pepper (blended).
- Prepare 1 of big onion.
- You need 2 of dried mackerel.
- Prepare 2 cups of periwinkle.
- Prepare 1 tsp of salt.
- Prepare 1 of knor cubes.
- It's 1 tin of tomatoes.
- It's 1 of kilo chicken.
- You need 1 of cooking spoon blended crayfish.
This dish is neither a soup nor sauce, but something in between - a slightly soupy vegetable that is served to accompany starchy food like fufu. Bitter melon leaves grow on herbaceous vine and attached to vine with long and thin stems. Tender ones are bright green to light green and are pliable as well as soft. This soup is loaded bitter melon rings that are filled to the brim with seasoned ground pork.
Melon and bitter leaf soup step by step
- Wash, season chicken with pepper, onion, knor cubes, and salt to taste. Set aside.
- Heat pot over medium heat, add palm oil, allow to bleach. Then add onion and tin tomatoes (stir constantly)... Allow to cook for 1 minute. Then add pepper, crayfish, knor and stir..
- Add melon and stir until thickens, then add water to your taste.. Allow to cook for 3-5 minutes..
- Add fish, periwinkles, and chicken, stir. Taste for salt and pepper then adjust to taste..
- Put off the stove, then add bitter leaf and stir. Cover pot for 3minutes so the heat softens the bitter leaf. Serve with any swallow of choice!.
